Breitling is the name par excellence in the luxury watch world, which should also be familiar to most non-watch enthusiasts. The main complication has always been the chronograph, due to Breitling's historical aviation history, which we find in both the Navitimer and the Chronomat. But most people are also familiar with models like the Superocean or the Avenger series.

Navitimer

The Navitimer was first introduced by Breitling in 1952 as a further development of the Chronomat. With the chronograph and the rotating bezel, the clear focus of the Navitimer is aviation: here, fuel consumption, climb and descent rates, multiplication and much more can be determined using the tachymeter. The Navitimer is one of Breitling's most popular models and has been equipped with the in-house caliber B01 since 2009.

Chronomat

Probably the most legendary pilot's watch and the inspiration model for the Navitimer. The first Chronomat came in 1941, although not with the well-known rider's bezel, but with the bezel of the later Navitimer. In 1984, after a break of several years, the Chronomat was re-released with the new bezel, which was intended to protect the Chronomat from glass damage. A special recognition feature here was the Rouleaux bracelet, which disappeared in the early 2000s and was reintroduced in 2020.

Caliber B01 manufacture movement

The Breitling B01 automatic movement, which has been installed since 2009, is a manufactory movement that is developed and produced in-house. The B01 was Breitling's first in-house caliber, which was introduced on the 125th anniversary. As complications we have a chronograph with a date display between 4 and 5 o'clock. With a 70-hour power reserve, the movement lasts almost 3 days when fully wound.
