The most important thing about Zenith

Zenith is one of the oldest wristwatch manufacturers of our time. Founded in 1865, the company was named after the highest point in the universe, as Zenith's works would achieve greatness in the future. The star also became the brand logo symbolically for Zenith. That's what they did with the El Primero movement, the first automatic chronograph caliber in the world, which not only overshadowed Breitling and Heuer, but also helped the Rolex Daytona to its success. Famous personalities such as Mahatma Gandhi also relied on Zenith's success and regularly wore their watches in public. In addition to the El Primero, the most famous models today include the Pilot and the Defy.

El Primero

The El Primero is the most important and best-known watch in the Zenith portfolio. It was the first watch with an automatic chronograph movement and thus stood up to Breitling and Heuer. It's not for nothing that it's called El Primero, meaning "the first" and to this day it's the backbone of Zenith. The watch was so relevant that the El Primero movement was even installed in the Rolex Daytona from 1989 to 2000, helping it to achieve its success. But it's not just Rolex with the so-called Zenith Daytona: Tag Heuer and Panerai also rely on the legendary El Primero movement from Zenith. In general, this watch is one of the most important models that has ever existed in the watch world.

The El Primero 4021 is based on the El Primero 400 and is an automatic manufacture caliber that was built specifically for the Open Heart models. Here we have a very exciting combination of a chronograph and a power reserve indicator between 5 and 8 o'clock. As is known from El Primero movements, the movement oscillates with 36,000 semi-oscillations and offers a power reserve of 50 hours.
