It is the complication that is most often found in mechanical watches: the date display. As a rule, it is a date disc that shows calendar days 1 to 31. But it can also be a hand that shows the date. The date changes automatically between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. and must always be reset at the beginning of the following month for months under 31 days. Modern watches have built-in quick date adjustment. This means that the date can be quickly set using the crown. Important! Never change the date between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. as this will damage the movement. In the best case scenario, you set your watch to 6 a.m. or 6 p.m. to adjust the date display.
