The most important thing about Jaeger LeCoultre

Jaeger LeCoultre is one of the most famous luxury watch manufacturers of our time. Not only are models like the Reverso absolute classics, Jaeger has also dedicated itself to the fine art of watchmaking and thus competes with brands like Vacheron Constantin or Patek Philippe. Founded in 1833 by Antoine LeCoultre, it all started in his family's barn, which Antoine converted into a watch studio. In 1903, Jacques-David LeCoultre, Antoine's grandson, first met the watchmaker Edmond Jaeger. In 1907 LeCoultre Cie. Edmond Jaeger with movements to build the world's thinnest pocket watches. Patek Philippe was also supplied with watch movements by LeCoultre in the early 1900s. In 1930, the Jaeger and LeCoultre companies went together and Jaeger LeCoultre was born. Jaeger LeCoultre remains a master of complications to this day. Especially astronomical complications such as star maps, lunar calendars for different hemispheres and many more are represented at JLC. But visually very fascinating complications such as the gyrotourbillon can also be found again and again. The timeless classic is the Reverso: a square watch with a reversible dial that has been around since 1931. Jaeger has and will always have a very important place in haute horlogerie and the world of luxury watches.

Master Ultra Thin

Ultra thin models, i.e. models with a very flat structure, played a role at Jaeger LeCoultre even before the merger of Jaeger and LeCoultre. It all started in 1907, when LeCoultre Cie. supplied the watchmaker Edmond Jaeger with raw movements to build the thinnest pocket watches in the world. With a height of just 1.38mm, they were flatter than a 1 cent coin. The Master Ultra Thin collection started in 1992, although the extremely flat models were already available earlier. The term Master refers to LeCoultre's own certification program, where each work is examined in a 1000-hour process.
