About Rolex

The luxury watch brand par excellence: Founded in 1905 by the German Hans Wilsdorf, the Rolex brand is no stranger to anyone. The Oyster Perpetual

Probably the most important model in Rolex history. Founder Hans Wisldorf was not only known as an absolute marketing genius, but also as a true inventor. His most important invention is probably the Oyster Perpetual and the associated international success of Rolex. In 1926 it was presented as an absolute innovation under the name Oyster: the first wristwatch with a waterproof case. To prove this, Wilsdorf and the professional swimmer launched a unique campaign: The first person to swim the English Channel. With a Rolex Oyster on the wrist, of course, this was one of the first and many international marketing successes for Rolex. But that was just the tip of the iceberg. In 1931, a perhaps even greater innovation: the perpetual rotor. The first automatic caliber with a rotor. The Oyster Perpetual laid the foundation for all of today's automatic and waterproof watches. This makes the Oyster Perpetual not just an elegant Rolex for everyday wear, but one of the most important models in the entire history of watches.
